Chevrolet launches two new concepts at the Auto Expo; the Chevrolet Beat Activ and the Essentia.

At the launch, Kaher Kazem, President and Managing Director, GM India said, “The Essentia and Beat Activ were created in direct response to the growing Indian market and signal Chevrolet’s commitment to the maturing Indian A-segment market. Both are evolutions of the proven Beat platform, these two important vehicles give us the opportunity to speak to a wider audience. They clearly demonstrate we are listening to our customers and are being led by their need for small cars with more content and more choice. We are confident it is cars like these that will increase our presence on Indian roads.”

Adding to this, Michael Simcoe, Vice President – Design, GM International said, “The Essentia and Beat Activ perfectly represent the evolution of the Chevrolet brand – they are distinctive, aspirational, modern and progressive. One platform but two distinct cars with two distinct personalities. The Essentia is refined and sophisticated, while the Beat Activ is young, more aggressive and spirited. These vehicles demonstrate how we design global cars, ensuring they are tailored to meet local tastes.”

The new Chevrolet Essentia is a compact sedan that is expected to go on sale in 2017. It plans to take on fierce competition in the A-segment. The sedan promises to be spacious and well equipped. It has to be take on the well-established rivals. The Essentia can easily take 5 adults and plenty of luggage.
Along with the Essentia, Chevrolet also launched the Beat Activ concept. It has been launched to judge customer response and the market for the car. The crossover is based on the Beat hatchback with a more aggressive design and more comfortable and connected interiors. The car is mainly aimed at the younger generation.
