Range Rover is busy developing a new Coupe SUV that has been code-named the L560. It could be called the Range Rover Sport Coupe. It will be the most sportiest Range Rover ever and will have a more road-biased setup. It will be based on the Jaguar F-Pace.
A render of the Range Rover Sport Coupe
On the inside, the new coupe-SUV is expected to come with one of the most luxurious interiors ever in a Range Rover. The interior will get new materials and finishes. It will have seating for four with seat belts for the fifth person as an optional extra. The F-Pace’s alloy architecture will not allow more people to sit inside.
On the outside, the vehicle will look very sporty with an elegant sloping roof and minimal openings for the rear doors. The design is expected to be completely new and will set new standards for Range Rover styling. It will have sporty, long-bonnet proportions. Dimension wise, it will around 4.7 metres long, which is around the same as the BMW X4 and the Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe and will be between the Range Rover Evoque and the Range Rover Sport.
The new SUV will be more striking than the Evoque
Powering the next Range Rover model will be a range of six-cylinder and eight-cylinder petrol and diesel engines from the JLR range. Four-cylinder engines are unlikely to be offered. Considering that most of its buyers are expected to live in crowded, polluted cities, Land Rover could offer a hybrid variant of the SUV. An all-electric powertrain could be taken from the upcoming I-PACESUV. A range-topping supercharged V8 engine will also be offered.
The Range Rover Sport Coupe will be the sportiest Range Rover ever and will be setup more for on-road handling. It is unknown if it will still retain some the brand’s legendary off-road abilities, which every Land Rover should be capable of. The suspension and lightweight body will be coming from the F-Pace.
The new vehicle will be the sportiest Range Rover
The new Range Rover Sport Coupe is expected to be launched next year. It will compete with the BMW X6 and the Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe. It will be priced around 60,000 pounds while the range-topping V8 model be around 90,000 pounds.
