The Fiat Tipo sedan was launched in the middle east a couple of months ago. The company is now back with a new advert which shows off how versatile the new Tipo actually is.
The Fiat Tipo looks typically Italian with its beautiful lines. There is a nice 3D grille upfront and a neatly detailed taillight cluster. The interiors seem very well made with a flowing dashboard and a silver trim running across its width. It features a 3-spoke steering wheel with steering mounted controls, UConnect infotainment system with a 5-inch colour touchscreen display, Bluetooth and an automatic climate control system. It has a 520-litre boot. It measures roughly 4,500mm in length, 1,780mm in width, 1,480mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,640mm.
The new Fiat Tipo is powered by a 1.4-litre petrol engine with 95PS of power, an E.TorQ motor developing 110PS and the 1.3-litre Multijet II diesel engine along with a 1.6-litre Multijet II diesel which develop 95PS and 120PS respectively. The engines are mated either to a 6-speed manual transmission or an automatic gearbox.
The Fiat Tipo is produced only in Turkey at its Bursa plant and will be exported to 40 LHD markets across the world. Other than Turkey it would be manufactured in India and Brazil in order to cater to thr right hand drive markets around the world. This very car could be the Linea replacement in India which will be launched during mid next year. In India, it will face competition from the likes of the Honda City, Hyundai Verna and the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz. The Honda City has been the king of this segment for years together and Fiat will have to come out all guns blazing if they really want to make a mark with the Tipo. Also, we also hope that the company rectifies and improves their sales and service network in India.
