Skoda Octavia RS Front The Skoda Octavia RS all wheel drive will be available with a 2.0-litre diesel mated to a 6-speed DSG transmission

The Octavia RSin this diesel avatar develops a mind blowing 184PS of power and 380Nm of torque which propels the car to 100km/hr in a scant 7.6 seconds thanks to the added grip of the all wheel drive system. The company has launched this variant only in the European market in quick succession to the special edition Octavia RS230. Skoda Board Chairman, Werner Eichhorn, said that the all wheel drive Octavia RS will further expand the RS range and will be a highly attractive variant in Europe. He also added that the Octavia has done exceedingly well for the company and that this new variant in the line up will drive the success further.

Skoda Octavia RS230 Interior

The Octavia RS230 is the fastest series production Octavia ever made with a top speed of 250km/hr

The Octavia RS230 gets a 2.0-Litre TSi petrol motor which develops a mammoth 230PS of power which helps the Octavia cross the 100km/hr mark in just 6.7 seconds combined with a 6-speed manual gearbox. It has a top speed of 250km/hr which makes it the fastest series production Octavia ever made. The RS230 (or vRS230 in the UK) can be also had with the brilliant and quick shifting 6-speed DSG automatic transmission. Though none of the RS versions of the Octavia are offered in India, we get a brilliant 1.8-litre TSi variant coupled to a 7-speed DSG gearbox which we at Indian Cars Bikes completely love.

Skoda Octavia RS Rear

Skoda has sold more than 58,000 units of the third generation Octavia ever since its launch in 2013

The other cars sold by Skoda in India are the Superb, Yeti and the Rapid which is the sedan version of the now discontinued Fabia. We don’t expect Skoda to launch the RS and the RS230 in Indiaanytime soon as it would way too expensive for the company to import it in to India as these versions are not manufactured here.
