A new report suggests that the facelift of the Honda Mobilio will be launched in India by the end of the year. The MPV was earlier launched in Indonesiaand it gets only cosmetic changes and no mechanical changes.
The changes on the outside include a little bit more chrome in places like the fog lamp surround and new design alloy wheels. On the inside, the Brio derived dashboard of the car has been replaced by a fresher unit from the BR-V SUV. The air vents are now rectangular and the centre console is dominated by a large touchscreen. The knobs have been replaced with sleeker buttons. The instrument cluster is also new. The new centre console also frees up more space which can be used for storage. The vehicle also gets additional equipment. These include automatic climate control and a new reverse parking camera. The touchscreen infotainment system also acts as a display for the parking camera.
Just like the facelift for the Amaze, there are no major mechanical changes to the Mobilio facelift. It is powered by a petrol engine and a diesel engine. The petrol engine is a 1.5-litre, four cylinder i-VTEC unit producing 117 bhp and 145 Nm of torque. It is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and power is sent to the front wheels. The MPV returns 17.3 kms to a litre of fuel. The diesel is a 1.5 litre, four-cylinder i-DTEC engine producing 99 bhp and 200 Nm of torque. It is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and power is sent to the front wheels. The MPV returns 24.2 kms to a litre of fuel. The 7-seater rides on 15-inch wheels. Hondacould offer a CVT automatic gearbox to the facelift.
