Datsun India showcased a breakthrough concept on the first day of the 2016 Auto Expo called the Go-Cross. The Go-Cross is a psuedo SUV that promises the practicality and ground clearance of a SUV and the maneuverability of a premium hatchback. The company is looking for opportunities to launch such a product in emerging and fast growing markets. Datsun is already testing a bigger hatchback that will compete with the Chevrolet Spark and Maruti Celerio and is called the Redi-Go. The Go-Cross will be launched only after the launch of this particular hatchback which means a launch timeline of late 2017 or early 2018.
