Jeep India announced the entry into the Indian market with two products: Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT and Jeep Wrangler.
The Jeep Cherokee SRT is powered by 6.4-litre engine that generates a whopping 475 BHP of Power and 644 Nm of Torque. The SRT will come with 19-speaker sound system and 8.4-inch touch screen display are available with this machine. The Wrangler would be offered in 3.6-litre V6 petrol engine that generates 275 BHP of Power and 359 Nm of Torque. It’s Diesel version would be powered by 2.8-litre engine option that generates about 197 BHP of Power and 451 Nm of Torque. The company will begin operations in third quarter of the year and begin with dealerships in metro cities followed by the Tier-1 cities.
The company will bring both the models as completely built units initially and later on, commence production at the Ranjangaon facility where it has made an investment of $280 million. The Ranjangaon plant will be their fourth large volume plant outside the US for the Jeep brand. The American brand intends to develop a completely new made in India SUV which could see production in 2017.

When launched, Wrangler is expected to lock horns with the Land Rover Freelander.
