Bentley has launched a new virtual configurator for the Bentayga SUV. It has been called the Bentley Inspirator and will work with handheld iOS devices.
The new application plays out a short film produced by Bentley. It then makes use of the camera on your device and has advanced facial and emotion recognition softwares to analyses 34 facial landmarks at 15 frames per second as the viewer watches the film. Using the data gathered from the user’s face, it automatically configures a Bentayga which will appeal to the viewer.
Kevin Rose, board member for sales and marketing said, “Configuring a Bentley is an intensely personal experience; it is a reflection of your personality and taste. The Inspirator aims to understand the inspiration behind the process of specifying a car. It provides intelligently curated responses which can be personalised further to truly make the car your own.”
The Bentley Bentayga was launched at the 2015 IAA Frankfurt Motor Showlast month and took the world by storm. The cabin is one of the most luxurious and it can rival cars like the Mulsanne and even a Rolls-Royce. It comes loaded with a 1920 watt 21-channel amplifier Naim audio system and driver assistance systems including night vision. It even gets a very expensive optional mechanical Breitling clock that costs $170,000. It is powered by a re-engineered version of the 6.0-litre W12 engine producing 600 bhp and 900 Nm of torque. It is mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox and power is sent to all four wheels. The SUV accelerates from a standstill to a 100 kmph in 4.1 seconds and it goes on to a top speed of 301 kmph. The Bentley Bentayga rivals the Range Rover Autobiography and the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S.
It is also expected to get a fasterversion called the Bentayga Speed, a smaller V8 engine and a diesel enginewith electric turbos. The diesel could be taken from the upcoming Audi SQ7.
Bentley might launch the Bentayga SUV in India by the end of 2016 or early 2017.
