Fiat Urban Cross Concept Breaks Cover at 2016 Delhi Auto Expo

The Fiat Urban Cross Concept has been revealed at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo.

The Fiat Urban Cross Concept has been revealed at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo. The Urban Cross Concept is a more off-road centered variant of the current generation Punto hatchback. Set to launch in the third quarter of this year, the new Fiat model will compete in the crossover segment of the Indian auto industry.

The recently showcased Fiat Urban Cross concept previews a production model due for launch later this year.

Fiat’s latest concept to hit the floor is likely to be the next generation Avventura masked under a different moniker. As such it is highly likely that the Urban Cross will be priced similar to the production variant of the Avventura. The Urban Cross Concept distinct features include a new chrome grille, metallic skid plates and roof rails. Its headlights feature LED accents and chrome lined fog lamp enclosures. The tail lamps feature a slightly reworked pair of tail lights and a rear windscreen wiper. Unlike most radical concepts, the Urban Cross is fairly moderate in most aspects. As such, we can expect the final production variant of the new Fiat to look near identical to the model showcased.

The dashboard of the Fiat Urban Cross concept is a blend of leather and premium plastic.

Fiat has opted for a dual color scheme for the cabin of the Urban Cross Concept. The leather lined dashboard, large screen infotainment system and aluminium finishing provides the Urban Cross’ cabin with an upmarket feel lacking in most of Fiat’s current range.

The Fiat Urban Cross concept was showcased along with the Punto Pure and the Abarth lineup for the Indian car market.

Similar to the Fiat Punto and Avventura, the new Urban Cross will be offered with a range of petrol and diesel engines including the more powerful 1.4 l T-JET engine.
