was spied with an automatic gearbox and is due for launch soon. As funny as it may seem, the gear lever of this camouflaged Duster was covered with a paper bag (see pictures) so as to not leak any powertrain details.
The 2015 Renault Duster will feature either a 6-speed EDC (Dual Clutch) transmission or a traditional 5-speed automatic gearbox
The facelift Renault Dusterwill get a new front grille and a more detailed headlamp cluster with LED DRLs as well as new LED taillights. The model that was spied was the base version which was evident by the newly designed wheel caps and are indeed much more easier on the eye. On the insides, spy pictures reveal a new colour combination for the seats and an all new music system. The base versions will only get a manual air conditioning system and Renault might have missed an opportunity here to add a climate control system on the new Duster.

The mechanical package will remain the same as that of the current Duster but we might see an addition of an automatic gearbox on the car. As mentioned above, the gear lever was covered with a paper bag hinting that Renault could actually bring in the facelift Duster with a new automatic gearbox. Its competition like the Hyundai Cretaand the Mahindra Scorpioare already sold with a 6-speed automatic gearbox respectively and the demand for automatic diesel SUVs at this price point might have led Renault to take this decision. The gearbox suspected here is a 6-speed EDC (Efficient Dual Clutch) transmission or a 5-speed automatic that was seen on the Dacia Duster at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show.

The Renault Duster was launched in 2012 in India after which it got off a very strong start. Sadly, it was washed out by newer competition and the demand for the Duster went to an all time low. Renault wants to resurrect this situation by launching the new facelift Duster. This could easily be one of biggest launches for the company this year after the Renault Kwid.
