Renault Kwid competition is becoming quite a talk of the town especially because the new one of the lot is very promising. The hatch has it all that makes it a superb vehicle which in turn is a tough challenger for the already stable cars like Maruti Alto800 and Hyundai Eon.

Renault Kwid competition – Exteriors:
Renault Kwidis a small hatchback that carries the Renault global design which gives the car a very up-market feel. It has the looks of a crossover which helps especially because the design of the cars in this segment is usually not given too much consideration. It gets flared wheel arches, cladded bumpers along with an aggressive face that it has borrowed from Renault Duster. The rear of the car also has been given a lot of attention.
Coming to the Maruti Alto; the hatchback gets prominent lines, chunky headlights and a comfortable looking front with hexagonal grille. Hyundai Eon on the other hand has a fluidic design with smart creases and curves. Both the cars are pretty good to look at but have a very familiar looking design. Though it is tough but in terms of looks Renault Kwid competition isn’t too difficult a war to win for the new kid on the block.

Renault Kwid competition is quite tough when it comes to performance. When it comes to the interior features and comfort, Renault Kwid has class leading features including the navigation functions, touchscreen on the console along with air conditioning vents with chrome and Audio Control Display, Speed dependent adjustable volume control etc. It has large dimensions which lead to a lot of comfort for people of an average height whether they are seated in front or in the second row.
Maruti Alto and Hyundai Eonare modest in terms of space inside especially in the second row. Alto gets very basic features whereas the Eon gets a little more than Alto with the front power windows, power steering, two – speaker audio system along with radio, USB and Aux etc.
Renault Kwid competition – Engine & Performance:
Renault Kwid gets 799cc petrol engine which delivers a power of 54PS whereas the torque produced is nearly 72Nm. What’s more exciting about the car is that it delivers a mileage of nearly 25.17kmpl which makes this one of the most fuel efficient petrol car in India. Hyundai Eon offers a 0.8litre petrol engine with a power output of 56PS and a toque of 74.5Nm, whereas, Maruti Alto comes with 796cc petrol engine with a power capability of 48PS and torque of 69Nm. All the three cars get five speed manual gearbox.
Renault Kwid competition is about to enter a very tough segment with each of the cars giving a performance that’s class apart. Though, not any less but Renault Kwid can’t lag behind at all especially in this field as this is where the heart of the competition lies.

All the three cars are actually some of the best that we have seen especially in the small car segment but each have its own features. However, the more we know Kwid, the better we like it. Its smart, stands and is loaded with features while offering a mileage that is absolutely splendid. Along with this, the car has a very comfortable tall boy stance as well. These together make Kwid quite an interesting car which the Renault Kwid competition should watch out for.
Whatever said and done, though the car is tuned for the Indian roads but how it actually fares once it’s used for regular day to day purpose, that we’ll have to wait and watch.
