Are you a family man and want a big SUV but at the same time, do not want to compromise on the performance?
Audihas got you covered. Presenting the all new Audi SQ7 which was unveiled today in Germany away from the buzz of ongoing Geneva Motor Show. The name itself is self-explanatory and logical. Audi Q7is the largest SUV from Audi and the ‘S’ is it’s performance version.
Talking about the specs, it features a 4.0-litre twin turbo V8 along with an electric-powered compressor to eliminate turbo lag. This mill produces 429bhp and 858 Nm of torque from as low as 1000 rpm all the way up to 3250rpm. Audi quotes an official 0-100kph time of 4.8sec which is 1.3 sec faster than the most powerful Audi Q7 and an electronically limited top speed of 250 kmph. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox and Torsen torque sensing four-wheel drive system with a self-locking centre differential to all four wheels. With the all-wheel-steering system, the rear wheels can turn by a maximum 5 degrees in either the same or opposite direction in accordance with the speed.
For the first time, Audi SQ7 features a 48-volt electrical system, which powers the car’s electromechanical active roll stabilisation system. It rides on 20-inch wheels fitted with 285/45 profile tyres with an option to upgrade to 22-inch ones. The customers can also choose from either a 5-seat or 7-seat layout. The exterior differentiator from the regular Q7 is a new grille with bumper and mirror housing with quad exhaust tips at the rear. The company has given the option of Matrix LED headlights as an upgrade.
Inside, the SQ7 gets Audi’s virtual cockpit with optional head-up display and a Bang and Olufsen sound system featuring up to 19 speakers. Audi has equipped its fastest SUV with 24 safety related driver assistance technologies like autonomous emergency city braking and autonomous emergency city braking.
The Audi SQ7 will be available for bookings in May with deliveries beginning in August. It could come to India in the second half of 2017.
