2016 Yamaha NMax
Yamaha pavilion at the Auto Expo was brimming with all sorts of two wheelers. We saw a few models which could be considered for the Indian market. With focus on increasing its market share in the scooter market, Yamaha Motor India could launch the Yamaha NMax in India.
Yamaha NMax is a big bulky scooter powered by a 125 cc liquid-cooled single cylinder engine with SOHC, four valves and electronic fuel injection system, that produces 12 hp at 7,500 rpm and 11.7 Nm of torque at 7,250 rpm. It comes mated to a V-Belt automatic transmission. The scooter features a telescopic fork at the front with 100 mm travel at the front and standard dual springs at the rear. It rides on thirteen-inch wheels with fat 110/70 and 130/70 tubeless tyres front and rear respectively. 2016 Yamaha NMax measures 1,995 mm in length, 740 mm in width, 1,115 mm in height, 1,350 mm in wheelbase, 765 mm in seat height, 135 mm in ground clearance with a kerb weight of 127 kg.
Yamaha R1M
Yamaha showcased its flagship superbike, the Yamaha R1M at the expo. The track focussed sibling of the YZF R1 gets the same 998 cc liquid-cooled four-cylinder engine that produces 200 PS at 13,500 rpm and 112.4 Nm of torque at 11,500 rpm which is mated to a 6-speed transmission. It gets dual 320 mm disc brake up front, a 220 mm disc brake at the rear along with ABS and 120/70ZR17 tyre at the front with 200/55ZR17 tyre at the rear. The bike weighs in a hefty 200 kg with a 17.5 litre fuel tank.
Some of the features on the bike include Ohlins electronic racing suspension, communication control with wireless re-mapping, lightweight body carbon work, 6-axis IMU with gyro/G-sensor with 3D motion data, front lift control & launch control, stronger cast magnesium wheels, LED lights and a titanium 4 x 2 x 1 exhaust system.
Yamaha R15 S
Some people do not like the split seat and Yamaha received a lot of feedback on that which mentioned that the R15 version 2.0 is cool but can we have it with a single seat which was on ‘Version 1.0′. Yamaha said, you got it guys and here stands the Yamaha R15 S!! It has got the same 149.8 cc liquid-cooled single cylinder engine with SOHC, that produces 17 PS at 8,500 rpm and 15 Nm at 7,500 rpm mated to a 6-speed transmission.
