Maruti Suzuki has teased it upcoming blockbuster hit, the Vitara Brezza compact SUV, in a video. The car will be launched at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo with prices expected to start at Rs. 5.75 lakhs for the base petrol variant. Watch the YouTubevideo below.
Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the Vitara Brezza in India during the upcoming Auto Expo. This will be the first car to be completely developed in-house by Maruti Suzuki in India with no inputs from Japan. The car will be manufactured in India and will be exported to international markets as well. This could be the next big launch from the Indo-Japanese car manufacturer in India as the SUV category is the highest growing segment in the country in recent years. The Maruti Vitara Brezza will be sold only via the company’s regular dealerships and not via the NEXA premium outlets.
The car looks well proportioned in the teaser video even with the sub 4-metre dimensions. The car will get projector headlights with integrated LED DRLs and a new black front grille with the Suzuki logo in the middle. The sides get squared out wheel arches with what look like 16-inch multi spoke alloy wheels. The rear windscreen look neatly raked to complete the SUV profile.
On the insides, the car is expected to come with all-black interiors with automatic climate control and the SmartPlay infotainment system offered on top variants. Leather upholstery on the seats and steering wheel could also be offered as an option on top variants. The Maruti Vitara Brezza will be powered by same engine options as the Baleno which means it will get a 1.2-litre 4-cylinder petrol that develops 84BHP and a 1.3-litre diesel albeit in the 90BHP state of tune. Both engines will come with a slick 5-speed manual gearbox while the petrol could be offered with a CVT gearbox just like the Baleno. The compact SUV might also get safety features like Dual Airbags and ABS as standard on all variants.
