Tata Aria 4X2 Crossover
has finally happened, as Tata Motors Limited has finally unwrapped the Tata Aria Crossover 4X2 cut price version, even as the Mahindra W201 World SUV and the Force One SUV launches are just around the corner. Team ICB was the first automotive publication in India to confirm the news of a 4X2 version of the Ariaunder development, after we spotted a workshop manual of the Tata Aria featuring details about how to service a 4X2 version of the Aria Crossover.
The dismal sales of the Tata Aria Crossover, could be one reason why Tata has come up with the 4X2 version at a very competitive price tag beginning from INR 11.61 Lakhs. Tata has launched an all new variant of the Aria 4X2 called the Pure, which will now be the entry level Aria, at INR 11.61 Lakhs, ex-showroom Delhi. Two more variants called the Pleasure and Prestige sit above the Pure variant, at INR 12.61 Lakhs and INR 14.21 Lakhs respectively.
Tata Aria 4X2 Crossover
The Tata Aria 4X2 Crossover is now expected to give a tough fight to the likes of the Toyota Innova’s top end variant and with the launch of the cut price 4X2 version of the Aria, expect sales of the flagship model from Tata motors’ stable to dramatically pick up. The spec level of the middle and top end variant of the 4X2 version of the Aria, namely the Pleasure and Prestige, are to remain the same as on the 4X4 version with the only significant difference being that of the deletion of 4X4 system.
Comparing the price of the Tata Aria 4X2 version with the 4X4 version, it can be found that the price difference is to the tune of INR 60,000. This seems to be a deliberate tactic by Tata Motors to ensure that the price difference between the 4X2 version and 4X4 versions aren’t too large to ensure that existing Aria customers don’t get miffed. However, the Aria 4X2 Pure variant being the stripped out version will ensure that it sits at that psychological price point of under INR 12 Lakh to bring prospective buyers into Tata showrooms.
