Porsche has given its Cayenne SUV a small update for 2017. It gets the latest version of the Porsche Communication Management infotainment system. The new system was first seen on the 2017 911 and comes with navigation, voice activation, a 7.0-inch touchscreen display and it responds to handwritten inputs. The navigation system comes with real-time traffic information and comes integrated with Google Earth and Google Streetview. Porsche Connect Plus Package is also available and it allows smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay.

In India, the Cayenne is available in seven variants powered by petrol and diesel engines. The hybrid variant is not available. The Cayenne is powered by a 3.6-litre V6 petrol engine producing 300 bhp. The same engine produces 420 bhp in the Cayenne S and 440 bhp in the Cayenne GTS. The other petrol engine is a 4.8-litre twin-turbo V8 engine producing 520 bhp in the Cayenne Turbo and 570 bhp in the Cayenne Turbo S. There are two diesel engines available. The base diesel is a 3.0-litre V6 engine producing 245 bhp while the other is a 4.2-litre V8 engine producing 385 bhp. All engine are paired to an 8-speed Tiptronic S automatic gearbox and power is sent to all four wheels.
The vehicle is one of the most luxurious SUVs on the market today. Just like a Porsche, it is highly capable on a race track and is equally good off-road. The German company has begun testing the next generationof the Cayenne, which is due next year.
The Porsche Cayenne starts at INR 98.78 lakhs (ex-showroom, New Delhi) and goes up to INR 2.43 crores (ex-showroom, New Delhi). It competes with the BMW X6, Land Rover Range Rover Sport, Toyota Land Cruiser and the Mercedes-Benz G-Class.
