The Renault Duster automatic India launch will reportedly occur sometime in the next few months. The automatic variant of the Duster may be introduced with the facelift that is also scheduled for launch later this year.
The International Renault Duster facelift will not be launched here in India.
Renault has not revealed any details regarding the changes that will be introduced for the Duster facelift. However, rumors suggest that the new Duster facelift may sport several elements from the recently launched Adventure Edition. The 2016 Renault Duster facelift is expected come with smoked alloy wheels, secondary fog lamps, revised plastic cladding across the lower body of the car and silver front and rear skid plates. Renault is unlikely to bring in major changes to the car’s interior.

The engine lineup for the India specific model will remain unchanged. Currently the Renault Duster is produced in both petrol and diesel avatars. The petrol powered variant makes use a 1.6 l four cylinder mill that churns out 102 hp @ 5850 RPM and 145 Nm @ 3750 RPM. Diesel driven variants of the Renault Duster are offered with a four cylinder 1.5 l DCi unit in two states of tune. Lower variants of the diesel Duster produce 84 hp @ 3750 RPM and 200 Nm @ 1900 RPM while higher variants churn out 108 hp @ 3900 RPM and 248 Nm @ 2250 RPM. Renault is the only manufacturer in the compact crossover segment to offer its entry with an all-wheel drive system. The new automatic Duster variant is expected to come with a 6-speed dual clutch transmission. Reports suggest that the new automatic gearbox will be offered with the two-wheel drive variant of the Duster only.
Renault will offer a new six speed automatic gearbox with the new Renault Duster.
The Renault Duster’s biggest competitors are the Ford EcoSport, Hyundai Creta, Nissan Terrano and the soon to be launched Maruti Suzuki S Cross.
