2015 Toyota Camry Facelift Launched In India at INR 28.8 lakhs

The 2015 Toyota Camry facelift has been launched in India in two variants – petrol and petrol hybrid.

has been launched in India in two variants – petrol and petrol hybrid. The petrol variant is priced at INR 28.8 lakhs while the Hybrid variant retails at 31.92 lakhs (both prices are ex-showroom Delhi).

The 2015 Toyota Camry facelift gets a sportier front fascia.

The Camry Hybrid benefits from a subsidy of INR 70,000 from the Indian government though the FAME initiative(Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of hybrid and Electric vehicles) which was announced at this year’s Union Budget.

The profile remains intact while the rear gets LED taillights and a new chrome strip.

The refreshed entry-D Segment sedan features sportier front fascia with redesigned headlights, LED daytime running lights, a narrower grille and a prominent hexagonal secondary airdam with integrated circular foglights. The Hybrid variant distinguishes itself from the petrol variant by means of an exclusive grille and vertically oriented turn indicators on the bumper, just below the headlamps.

The refreshed sedan gains additional features such as a Qi wireless charging pad.

The profile stays intact save for new alloy wheel designs while the rear gets LED taillights and a new chrome strip that bridges the taillights. The design and layout of the interior remains more or less the same however more features are on offer such as three-zone climate control, JBL audio system with 10 speakers, electrically adjustable rear seats, a Qi wireless charging pad.

Three zone automatic climate control is on offer.

The powertrain lineup continues unchanged. The 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol motor pumps out 181 PS at 6,000 rpm and 233 Nm of torque at 4,100 rpm. A 6-speed automatic gearbox transmits power to front wheels. The Hybrid variant employs the same engine and an electric motor to produce a combined output of 205 PS and 451 Nm of torque which are harnessed by an electronically controlled E-CVT. Fuel efficiency and CO2 emission stand at 19.16 kmpl and 122 g/km respectively.

Competition will come from the Skoda Superb but the Hybrid variant will continue to have its unique appeal in the segment. Both petrol and Hybrid variants are assembled at Toyota Kirloskar Motor’s Bangalore facility from CKD kits.
