Its the festive season and the good news is that the Ford EcoSport Facelift is coming soon to your nearest Ford dealership.
is coming soon to your nearest Ford dealership. The company teased its front look recently which shows the addition of LED DRLs into the headlights.
The Ford EcoSport Facelift will get integrated LED day time running lights, new 17-inch alloys wheels and rain sensing wipers
For those who think the new EcoSport will look radically different, the answer is No. The front of the car sees a change only in the headlight cluster which now houses new LED day time running lights. Also a somewhat different design for the skid plate wraps up the changes to the front. On to the sides, you might find new design 17-inch alloy wheels on the car as the company had told that it will offer them at least as an option on the EcoSport at a later stage. Coming to the rear, Ford has thankfully retained the spare wheel mounted on the rear door. The European versions of the EcoSport had their spare wheel taken out from the rear as a study by the company revealed that the customers there preferred not to opt for the extra spare wheel as it added to the cost of the vehicle. On the other hand, in India, the study revealed that people prefer the spare wheel as it helped the car with an SUV-ish stance.
The EcoSport always came loaded with features but this one takes the game even ahead of its predecessor. The dashboard will now feature a larger 4-inch colour screen for the SYNC system, an electro-chromic rear view mirror and rain sensing wipers on top variants while lower variants might get the ‘MyFord Dock’ that was first seen on the Ford Figo Aspire sedanand the Ford Figo hatchback. The facelift EcoSport might also see the addition of a new Trend+ variant too, like the Figo siblings. Engine options will largely remain the same as the current car but the 1.5-litre diesel will definitely see a bump in power output by 10 percent to a stronger 100PS. The award winning 1.0-litre EcoBoost will be continued to be offered with the facelifted car with a peak power output of 125PS and 170Nm of torque.
Ford wants to make a blockbuster comeback into the segment in which it has been losing steam lately due to the slew of new launches. The Ford EcoSport Facelift is expected to cost around Rs. 5000/- to Rs. 20,000/- more than the current car but will be easily priced below its main rivals, the Hyundai Creta and Renault Dusterby a fair margin due to its sub 4-metre proportions.
