Images of the facelifted Maruti Suzuki S-Cross has been leaked online from a dealer presentation in France.
The new car gets a completely redesigned front end. It has a new radiator, new grille, a new front bumper and new smoked projector headlamps. There is also a small change in the interiors. It gets an updated instrument display with new trim options for the dashboard and seat upholstery with contrast stitching. The car is expected to some more features and equipment.
The new S-Cross is expected to retain the current powertrain. Suzuki could offer the ALLGRIP AWD system as an option.
The premium crossover is sold only through the Nexa outlets. It is available in 2 variants: the DDiS 200 and the DDiS 320. The DDiS 200 is powered by a 1.3-litre diesel engine producing 88.5 bhp and 200 Nm of torque. It is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The car returns 23.65 kms to a litre of fuel. The DDiS 320 is powered by a 1.6-litre diesel engine producing 118 bhp and 320 Nm of torque. It is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The car returns 22.7 kms to a litre of fuel. The vehicle can seat five people.
The crossover gets a nicely laid cabin which is better in quality than its rivals. The vehicle gets dual tone paint scheme, skid plates, projector headlamps, rain sensing wipers, reverse parking sensors with camera, two airbags, Smart Play Infotainment System which can be accessed via a touchscreen colour TFT display and it has features like Bluetooth Connectivity, Smartphone Connectivity and Media Connectivity.
The Maruti Suzuki S-Cross starts from INR 7.79 lakhs (ex-showroom, New Delhi) and goes up to INR 11.69 lakhs (ex-showroom, New Delhi). It has been put on the sale in the highly competitive compact SUV segment and it rivals the Renault Duster and the Hyundai Creta.
