Danish supercar company, Zenvo, will debut two new cars at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show next month. The first is a supercar called the TS1 and the second will be a race car called the TSR.
Zenvo ST1
TS1 will be an improved version of the ST1 supercar. It will offer new levels of comfort, downforce and engine technology. Zenvo is expected to make it more reliable as well. The TSR will be a racing concept that could be aimed at a traditional racing series or a track-only no-limits racer that will take on the Ferrari FXX-K, McLaren P1 GTR and the Aston Martin Vulcan.
Zenvo has just one supercar under its belt and that’s the ST1. Made from carbon fibre, the supercar was designed fully by the Dutch and was almost entirely hand-built. It comes equipped with keyless entry, satellite navigation, telescopic steering wheel adjustment and electrically adjustable leather racing seats.
The St1 is powered by a turbocharged and supercharged 6.8-litre V8 engine producing 1,104 bhp at 6,900 rpm and 1,430 Nm of torque at 4,500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters or a 6-speed manual transmission. The car accelerates from a standstill to a 100 kmph in 3.0 seconds and to 200 kmph in 8.9 seconds and goes on to a top speed of 375 kmph. The vehicle weighs 1,688 kgs.
Production of the Zenvo St1 started in 2009 and only 15 cars were built and sold. It is assembled at the company’s plant in Denmark and it has a list price of 6,60,000 euros. The 2-door coupe has a lot of reliability issues with a few examples catching fire and some events.
A car caught fire on the British motoring program Top Gear and while it made an appearance at the 2015 Copenhagen grand prix where the driver had to bail out as quickly as possible.
