Tesla Model S To Get Summon Function In The UK

Late last year, Tesla gave it’s American customers the ‘Summon’ function along with the semi-autonomous ‘Autopilot’ function.

function. The function is now available to download for Tesla’s UK customers. It can be downloaded over a 3G data network for the Model S.

Once you arrive home, ‘Summon’ will open the garage door, enter the garage, park itself and shut down. In the morning, it will open the garage door, get the car out to greet you. This will eliminate the problem of squeezing ourselves when we park in tight spaces.

The American company says that ‘Summon’ is still in its initial stages. Later, the car could drive itself across the country on its own charging itself on the way. It would also sync up with your calendar to know exactly when to arrive. This is the next step in Tesla’s autonomous driving. Till now, autonomous driving could only be used on the highways.

The Tesla Model S is a full-electric sedan with tremendous performance and has always been one of the first cars to receive new technologies from Tesla. The top of the range Ludicrous edition has a total power output of 532 bhp and 967 Nm of torque sent to all four wheels. The sedan accelerates from a standstill to a 100 kmph in 2.8 seconds and goes on to an electronically limited top speed of 250 kmph. The range is 407 kms.

Along with the Model S sedan, Tesla also sells the Model Xelectric SUV. By the end of this month, they will be releasing a new affordable electric sedan called the Model 3, which will be the cheapest Tesla vehicle and will compete with the Audi A4, Jaguar XE, Volvo S60, BMW 3-series and the Mercedes-Benz C-Class.

We hope that Tesla enters the Indian market soon. The autonomous driving systems will have a tough time coping with Indian road and traffic conditions.
