The 2017 Hyundai Elantra prices were revealed just a couple of days back. The car not only undercuts its main rival the Honda Civic but is also the most affordable car that supports Android Auto and Apple Car Play.
The car will be available in three trim levels – SE, Limited and Eco. While the Eco variant can be had with a 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, the lower variants namely the SE and Limited will be offered with the option of a 7-inch touchscreen system that supports Google Android Auto and Apple Car Play making it the most affordable car with these convenience features. The screens can also be used for other functions like the reversing camera display. “By launching our best-selling model, Elantra, with CarPlay and Android Auto support, we are building on our promise to offer more convenience features for today’s modern driver at an affordable price point,” said Mike O’Brien, Vice President of product and corporate planning, Hyundai Motor America.
The base Elantra SE with the manual gearbox is priced at $17,985 (Rs. 12.15 lakhs), while automatic variant is priced at $18,985 (Rs. 12.85 lakh). The mid-level Limited trim has been priced at $23,185 (Rs. 15.70 lakh) comes with standard features like leather seats and LED taillights. Prices of the top Eco trim have not been released as yet and we will have to wait for a while before the company rolls out this variant.
The SE and Limited will be powered by a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated 4-cylinder petrol motor, while the Eco will get a downsized 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol motor that also features turbocharging for the first time. The base trims will be offered with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox, while the top Eco trim will be offered only with a 7-speed dual clutch automatic. The next generation Hyundai Elantra could be displayed at the upcoming 2016 Delhi Auto Expo.
