ASEAN NCAP ratings for the all new 2016 Toyota Innova Crysta
Toyota Innova Crysta managed to garner a 14.10 score out of 16 points during the crash test and received a 4-star safety rating out of 5-stars, because the car is not offered with Electronic Stability Control (ESC) as standard, which happens to be mandatory to achieve a 5-star rating. It scored an overall score of 14.10 out of a maximum 16 points for Adult Occupant Protection (AOP). The higher trim comes with ESC and scored a 5-star rating. Both models scored 76% for Child Occupant Protection (COP) which is good for 4-Star rating. However, it remains to be seen which features make it to the standard variant in India.
The model crash tested was the 2.0-litre standard variant
The Toyota Innova Crysta will be offered in 3 engine options. A 2.0-litre i-VVT petrol motor that pumps out 137BHP and 183Nm and an all new 2.4-litre 2GD FTV four-cylinder diesel engine that produces 147BHP and 359Nm which can be seen on the new Toyota Fortuner as well. Also, on offer could be a 2.8-litre diesel variant from the new Fortuner if we are to believe the gossip mongers. All engine will be mated to either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic.
On the safety front, ABS, EBD and 3 airbags, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and Hill Start Assist will be standard. On the interior, the dashboard features a 7-inch display for its infotainment system, automatic climate control console. The all new entertainment system sports conventional features such as audio playback and Bluetooth telephony as well as voice control and navigation.
