Just 24-hour after launch, Maruti Suzuki received 2,600 bookings for the car. Some dealers started accepting bookings from the February. Deliveries of the new compact SUV will begin by the end of this month. The car received good response from the public when it was showcased at the Auto Expo in Delhi last month.

The compact sub-4 metre SUV was launchedin the country yesterday. This is the first sub-4 metre SUV from the Indian company. It was unveiledat the Auto Expo in Delhi last month. It measures 3,995 mm in length, 1,790 mm in width and 1,640 mm in height. The ground clearance is 198 mm and the turning circle is 5.2 metres. The SUV can seat 5 people and has a wheelbase of 2,500 mm while the boot capacity is 328 litres.
The SUV is powered by a 1.3-litre diesel engine producing 88.5 bhp at 4,000 rpm and 200 Nm of torque at 1,750 rpm. It is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and power is sent to the front wheels. The SUV returns 24.3 kms to a litre of fuel. A petrol engine and an automatic gearbox are not available. The car rides on 16-inch wheels.
It is available with a diesel engine only
The vehicle comes with a SmartPlay infotainment system with inbuilt navigation, engine starter button, cruise control, projector headlights with LED daytime running lights, automatic headlights, a driver airbag as standard, ABS, EBD, passenger airbag and a reverse parking camera.
The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza starts at INR 6.99 lakhs (ex-showroom, New Delhi) and goes up to INR 9.68 lakhs (ex-showroom, New Delhi) and it competes with the Mahindra TUV 300 and the Ford Ecosport.
