The Volvo V90 estate is all set to launch on the 18th of February 2016. The car is designed on the same platform as the S90 and XC90 and is the third new generation product from the company.
The Volvo V90 will be the flagship estate offering from the Swedish car manufacturer worldwide. Previously, the car was leaked via a scale model and surprisingly many of the styling aspects can be found on the production ready car as well. Things like the front grille with the now familiar all LED headlights that house the Thor’s hammer shaped DRLs, the slim fog lights strip are all retained on V90. The rear also with its crossover like hatch looks quite contemporary and gels well with the overall look. The V90 will be the successor to the V70 which was launched in 2007 and is still on sale in a few international markets.
On the insides, the car is expected with the same high quality interiors as the S90 sedan and the XC90 SUV. This means the new estate from Volvo will get the huge 10.1-inch touchscreen which supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and gives the entire dashboard an uncluttered look. The car will offer literally acres of boot space due to its body style and will be the choice of the practical minded buyer in this segment.
Engines options will include a line up similar to the one on the S90 and XC90. It will be powered by the 2.0-litre diesel engine in two states of tune – 190BHP and 235BHP. There will also be a T6 petrol engine on offer good for around 320BHP! There will also be a T8 Twin Engine plug-in hybrid variant that develops 407BHP of max power and 640Nm of torque.
