Ferrari has released its new 2016 Formula One competitor in a new red and white livery.
Ferrari has released its new 2016 Formula One competitor in a new red and white livery. This not the first time that a red and white livery has been seen on Ferrari F1 car. The new car has been called the SF16-H and it refers to the hybrid powertrain, which enters its third season in the Formula One World Championship this season.

The new race car is made from a carbon fibre honeycomb structure which covers 20,000 square metres. It is powered by a 1.6-litre turbocharged engine with a maximum rev limit of 15,000 rpm which works in conjunction with an electric powertrain. It is mated to an 8-speed gearbox with one reverse gear. The car weighs around 702 kgs, including the weight of water, lubricant and the driver and it rides on 13-inch OZ wheels.
It will be driven by Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen
The car, which is made out of 100 different alloys, took 700 people inside Ferrari 2,50,000 hours to manufacture. 20,000 different pieces for the engine, chassis and gearbox have been used and parts have been received from 300 suppliers from 15 different countries. The SF16-H has spent 1,500 hours inside the wind tunnel.
The race car will make its debut at the first season testing at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain today and will take part in its first race on the 20th of March in Melbourne, Australia. The drivers are former World Champion Sebastian Vettel from Germany and former World Champion Kimi Raikkonen from Finland.

In the 2015 Driver’s Championship, Sebastian Vettel finished 3rd with 278 points and Kimi Raikkonen finished 4th with 150 points. The team finished 2nd in the Constructors Championship with 428 points.
