Maruti Suzuki launched the India made Baleno in Japan today at 1.41 million Yen.
The made-in-India Baleno is offered in two main variants – XG and XT. Suzuki Baleno with 1.2-litre DualJet engine delivers 91 PS peak power at 6,000 rpm and 130 Nm torque at 4,400 rpm and is assisted with SVHS technology.The XT variant is powered by the all-new Boosterjet 1.0-liter three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine capable of 111 PS and 160 Nm of torque and will be made available from May 13 and will be mated to 6-speed automatic with paddle shifters. The Baleno XT is priced at 1.617 million Yen (INR 9.66 lakhs) and 1.728 million Yen (INR 10.33 lakhs) for the option pack.
The Maruti Baleno is manufactured at the Manesar plant in Haryana and is the global hub for manufacturing this hatchback. The company plans to export the model to over 100 countries from India. The Baleno has seen a tremendous response in India and has already sold about 38,000 cars with waiting period for certain models.
The Baleno reached Japan a few days back with the first consignment having a total of 1800 cars.

On the launch, Sujan R Chinoy, Ambassador of India to Japan said: “The model being launched today, the Baleno is a state-of-the-art car developed and manufactured in India through Suzuki’s excellence. It will be exported to 100 global markets including Japan. I am confident that the Baleno will prove to be a huge success in Japan.”
