BREAKING: Bajaj Pulsar AS150 and AS200 Launched With Prices INR 79,000 and INR 91,550 Respectively

The Bajaj Pulsar AS150 and AS200 (Adventure Sport) semi-faired tourers are the latest entrants of the ever growing family of Pulsars.

(Adventure Sport) semi-faired tourers are the latest entrants of the ever growing family of Pulsars. The new variants comes not long after the brand’s first fully faired motorcycle, the RS200. The iconic Pulsar brand initiated the compact sportsbike segment back in 2001 and since then, has been dominating the segment. The brand grew old along with its loyalists and now comprises a range of matured variants to suit everybody’s tastes.

The Bajaj Pulsar AS200 makes use of carbureted engine to keep the costs in check.

The smaller Pulsar AS150 is priced at an attractive introductory price of INR 79,000 while the range topping AS200 is priced at an equally impressive INR 91,550 (both prices are ex-showroom Delhi). The bikes are claimed to have 20-30% more power than their respective rivals.

The Bajaj Pulsar AS150 produces an outstanding 17 PS from its 149.5 cc air-cooled engine.

The AS150 is powered by a 149.5cc single-cylinder air-cooled 4-valve DTS-i engine which is capable of an outstanding 17 PS of power at 9,500 rpm whereas the AS200’s 199.5cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled motor continues to use carburetor to produce 23.5 PS at 9,500 rpm and 18.35 Nm of torque. The former employs a 5-speed transmission while the latter sports a 6-speed unit.

The bikes adopt Alpha Male design language with projector headlamps.

Bajaj positions the Adventure Sport range as motorcycles which can tackle the everyday city commute as well as make the weekend touring enjoyable. Both motorcycles are based on a steel perimeter frame borrowed from the 200 NS naked bike and adopt the “Alpha Male” design philosophy with projector headlamps, tall windscreen and clip on handlebar.

The prices are introductory.

The bigger Adventure Sport offers 280 mm front disc and 230 mm rear disc while the entry level Adventure variant makes do with 240 mm front disc and 130 mm rear drum brakes. The duo are available in three color options – blue, black and red.

The duo is expected to be available in showrooms across the country in a phased manner. With such aggressive pricing, the two new Pulsar variants look set to create a new touring sub-categories in their respective segments.
