Aston Martin has announced a partnership with the Red Bull Racing formula 1 racing team to build a new hypercar.

Aston Martin has announced a partnership with the Red Bull Racing formula 1 racing team to build a new hypercar. Red Bull Racing’s Chief Technical Officer, Adrian Newey and Aston Martin’s Chief Creative Officer, Marek Reichman will be working together on the new project. Along with a new hypercar, the new collaboration will also see the Aston Martin logo on Red Bull’s F1 cars. Earlier, Adrian Newey had said that he would love to produce a road legal hypercar.

The new hypercar from the Red Bull – Aston Martin partnership could feature a hybrid powertrain and a lot of F1 tech

The project has been codenamed the ‘AM-RB 001’ and will be something between F1 and LMP1. The road legal car is expected to be faster than the current F1 cars around Silverstone. Powering the new hypercar could be the same 5.2-litre V12 twin turbo engine that made its debut in the DB11. Boost pressure will be increased to generate maximum amount of power from the V12 engine. It could also get a hybrid system with a few electric motors. A lot of Formula 1 tech will go into the hypercar.

The new hypercar is being designed from scratch, which means it will take a long time to be released. It could come out only in 2018.

The new hypercar was be co-developed by Red Bull designer Arian Newey and Aston Martin designer Marek Reichman

Aston Martin already have one hypercar in production now. It is called the Vulcan and it is a track-only car which was unveiled at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. It is powered by a 7.0 V12 engine producing 820 bhp. The engine is mated to a 6-speed sequential transmission. Only 24 cars are being built and all customers will get track-day tuitions.
