Honda Car India has launched a new top of the line variant for its City sedan in India. The VX(O) BL variant will only be available on the manual petrol and diesel variants, with the automatic petrol variant given a skip.
The Honda City was first launched in the year 1998 and has since then been the king of the C-segment sedans in India. The consequent two generations were launched in 2003 and 2008, and the current generation car was launched in 2014 with a diesel motor for the first time. The company has on offer a long list of trim levels for the City starting from the bare basic ‘E’ to the range topping ‘VX(O)’. Not any more as the company has introduced yet another variant right at the top. The new VX(O) BL variant will offer all black interiors with black leather (BL) seats, gear lever, and steering wheel trim.
The company has also introduced Rear ISOFIX and Top Tether Anchor for Child Seats as standard equipment in the City, while ABS with EBD and dual airbags were standard on all variants right from the beginning. The newly introduced rear ISOFIX feature in the Honda City is an international standardised system, which provides a safer, easier and quicker way to install a compatible child car seat correctly. Other features on the VX(O) BL include a sunroof and a 6.2-inch touch screen infotainment system with rear parking camera.
