Volvo Buses India has received an order for 51 multi-axle intercity coaches from VRL Logistics. The order from VRL includes a mix of the Volvo 9400XL and Volvo 9400PX multi-axle models with I-Shift.
The Volvo 9400PX is a 14.5m coach with steerable tag axle. It is designed to impart the highest levels of comfort to both passengers and drivers and is apt for long-distance routes, where VRL is offering services. The Volvo 9400XL is the bestselling coach product in India since it was first introduced in 2008. At 13.7m, this bus offers great comfort making it the preferred option for many passengers. All models from Volvo Buses also come equipped with the latest safety features, both in terms of regulatory compliance as well as initiatives from Volvo. Volvo was the first company to start offering Bus Body Code features in its products before the norm came into effect. All buses are also fitted with ABS as a standard since 2005 including the Volvo 9400XL and Volvo 9400PX.

VRL is also the largest Volvo bus fleet operator among private operators with 140 coaches. The company was founded in 1976 by Dr. Vijay Sankeshwar in Gadag, a small town in North Karnataka who has now expanded to the largest fleet of commercial vehicles in India with 4,077 vehicles, which includes 373 buses and 3,704 trucks.
