The third edition of the race will take place tomorrow and it will feature 12 international drivers and 17 Indian drivers. The Indian drivers are regular truck drivers who have been shortlisted and have been trained to drive race trucks. The Indian and international drivers will take part in different races today. They will not be racing together. This is the first time that Indian drivers will be taking part in the event.
The truck is powered by a Cummins engine producing 370 bhp and 1,550 Nm of torque and it has a top speed of 140 kmph
The shortlisted Indian drivers are 38-year-old Bikash Mahato, 37-year-old Syed Akram Pasha, 30-year-old Shankar Singh, 32-year-old Padam Singh Bhati, 29-year-old Mohammed Iliyas, 30-year-old Anand, 35-year-old Gobind Singh, 31-year-old Jagat Singh, 40-year-old Mohammed Parvez, 24-year-old Malkeet Singh, 30-year-old Jitendra Singh, 35-year-old Rajkumar Mahato, 36-year-old Bhag Chand, 25-year-old Raghuveer Singh, 32-year-old Rabinder Yadav, 27-year-old Bacchu Singh and 29-year-old Nagarjuna A.

The international drivers are Mat Summerfield, Adam Bint, Richard Collett, Graham Powell, David Jenkins, Brian Burt, Oly Janes, Tony Smith, Ben Horne, Paul McCumisky, Ray Coleman and Simon Cole.
The drivers will be driving for six teams. They are Castrol Vecton, Cummins, Tata Technologies Motorsports, Tata Motors Finance, Dealer Warriors and the Dealer Daredevils. The official sponsors for the truck racing event are WABCO (Official Braking Technology Partner), JK Tyre (Official Tyre Partner), Castrol (Official Lubricant Partner), Cummins (Official Engine Technology Partner), Tata Motors Finance (Official Commercial Vehicle Financing Partner) and Tata Technologies (Official Technology Partner).
Even the practise and qualifying sessions saw close action
The Tata Prima race truck is powered by a Cummins engine producing 370 bhp and 1,550 Nm of torque. It is paired to an Eaton 9-speed gearbox. It has a maximum speed of 140 kmph and it comes equipped with a 5-point safety harness seatbelts, a safety cage, a fire extinguisher, laminated glass that prevents shattering, further weight reduction, lowered suspension and lower aspect ration tyres that reduce the ride height and anti-roll bars.
The racing tomorrow will be intense
Four qualifying sessions were held yesterday for two batches of Indian drivers and two batches of international drivers. The Indian drivers who topped their respective qualifying sessions are Jagat Singh with a time of 1:53.354 and Bhag Chand with a time of 1:51.897. The international driver who topped the qualifying session was Rick Collett with a time of 1:50.998. The international drivers then had a race later on to determine the grid position for tomorrow’s race and that was won Graham Powell.
