Avid biker Esha Gupta has begun her journey on her bike to attempt the longest distance covered on two wheels by a female rider. Her journey began on the 26th January and aims to cover 17 states in 110 days. Esha Gupta is all set to undertake the thrilling journey of a lifetime and has kicked off her journey from Bangalore which has been organized and promoted by Throttle club, an online motorcycling platform. The main aim behind this journey is to encourage women bike enthusiasts to come out and grab the handle bars so that even they can pursue their passion for motorcycles. Esha will undertake her journey on her favorite and trusted bike, the 2013 Bajaj Avenger 220 DTSi which she calls “MIKE”.
Elaborating on the objective behind the journey, Esha said, “By doing a solo ride across my country, I want to send out a message to all those out there who say India is an unsafe country for women; it is definitely not so. Having traveled alone extensively, I negate that line with my full will. That doesn’t mean I am challenging the miscreants, it just means that we, as a country, are concentrating so much on the negativity that we have forgotten that we are surrounded majorly by positive and good people.”
Speaking on the occasion, Srinivas Adimulam, CEO, Throttle club, said, “We are a startup that uses a technology platform to bring bikers together. Biking, to us, is all about brotherhood and at Throttle we wish to promote the egalitarian spirit it represents. Be they male or female, each biker deserves a chance to express themselves.”
Mangesh Deshpande, COO, Throttle club, said, “Throttle.club is a cool hangout place for every rider. It is a online platform which has clubs, rides, rider profile, chat, bike listing and much more. The platform can be accessed thru www.throttle.club in web form and also on the Android Play Store. The Apple IOS and Windows apps are to be launched soon.”
