Toyota Kirloskar Motors has unveiled the Prius Hybrid sedan in India at the 2016 Auto Expo in New Delhi. The Prius is the world’s best selling hybrid car and is currently in its fourth generation. The third generation Toyota Prius is still on sale in India with a price tag of nearly Rs. 40 lakhs as it is imported in India as a CBU. The fourth generation model was recently unveiled in Japan and has made it to Indian shores soon enough. But will it be launched in India, only time will tell. The new Prius is 61mm longer, 15mm wider and 20mm lower than its predecessor. At the rear a double wishbone independent suspension replaces its previous generation’s torsion beam setup. Toyota claims that the fourth-generation Prius would have a drag coefficient of 0.24, better than the 0.25 claimed for the third-generation model.
Toyota Innova Crysta Front
Toyota also unveiled the Innova Crysta in India on Day 1 of the 2016 Auto Expo. The new Innova Crysta features an all new design but keeps its MPV profile. The front gets a new chrome grille and wider headlamps housing projector units. The side body work looks plain while there are bigger alloys wheels on offer this time around. The rear now looks much more sharper with the sickle shaped taillights and a roof mounted spoiler.

The new Toyota Innova is powered by a 2.0-litre i-VVT petrol motor that churns out 137BHP and 183Nm and an all new 2.4-litre diesel engine that produces 147BHP and 359Nm which is also shared with the new Toyota Fortuner. The engines will be offered with either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox across all variants. On the safety front, ABS, EBD and 3 airbags, EBD, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and Hill Start Assist is standard across all variants.
