The BMW X1 which is the company’s entry level SUV in India sees a complete makeover and looks less estate-like and more SUV-like. The headlamps are now slightly bigger along with the BMW kidney grille and a trapezoidal lower grille. The new design alloy wheels look really attractive and the entire car on the whole looks fresher and much more appealing than the older car ever did. The SUV will be powered by a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder all-Aluminium diesel motor that produces around 184BHP and will come mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. Globally, BMW also offers a 2.0-litre petrol motor but we don’t expect this motor to make it to India.

The BMW 7-Series on the other hand is the company’s flagship luxury sedan and brings a whole new level of innovation in its latest generation. The car gets a few standout features like remote parking which allows you to pull the car out of the garage with just a press of a button on the keyfob. The car can park itself on its own and also drive along a well marked highway for as much as 15 seconds. BMW has also incorporated some hand gestures like swirling motion of your hand will increase/decrease the volume and a swipe of your hand can reject an incoming call.

The BMW 7-Series will be powered by a 3.0-litre 6-cylinder diesel that will develop around 250-horses. The company might also offer an entry level 2.0-litre petrol motor in India to keep the pricing competitive. The BMW 7-Series will also get a M variant for the first time. It is nothing but a rebadged 760Li with some exterior enhancements and could be powered by a V12 engine with an output close to 600BHP! Prices are expected to start at Rs. 1 Crore ex-showroom. Stay tuned to the ICB network as we will be bringing you Live Coverage of the BMW launch event.
