Mitsubishi has launched a limited edition of the Pajero Sport in India. The SUV gets a few cosmetic as well as mechanical changes and has been priced at Rs. 25.60 lakh Ex-showroom, Delhi.
Mitsubishi launched the Pajero Sport in India a couple of years back but has not achieved the sales numbers the company would have expected. Given newer models like the Chevrolet Trailblazerand the 2016 Ford Endeavouralready launched and a couple more lined up, the Pajero Sport is feeling the heat and hence to keep it competitive in the market Mitsubishi has just launched a limited edition model of its big SUV. It features both cosmetic as well as mechanical changes, while the interiors will remain unchanged.
On the outside, the car will get new dual tone paint shades like Blue & White, Black & White, Yellow & White and Red & White, besides new single tone colours like Golden Beige and Clove Brown. The SUV gets new ‘Titanium Grey’ alloy wheels, an extra dash of chrome upfront, 3D decals on the sides, sun shade protectors and other such cosmetic upgrades. Mechanically, only the automatic variant gets a new 4-wheel drive system (the manual is already offered with one) mated to the same 2.5-litre 4-cylinder diesel motor. The engine churns out an impressive 178PS of max power and 350Nm of torque delivered between 1,800 RPM and 3,500 RPM.
Recently, Mitsubishi recalled 2,400 units of the Cedia sedan manufactured between 2006 and 2008 to replace a faulty airbag inflator. The car was fitted with Takata sourced inflators that would inflate the airbags suddenly during normal driving and cause injury or even death. The said faulty part has already claimed a few lives with more than 10 major car manufacturers affected due to this. The faulty Takata airbag inflators are said to be fitted in cars manufactured from 2002 up to 2008.
