After unveiling the Bolt Sport at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, Tata has finally brought the hatchback to the country and it made its debut at the 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi.
The Bolt Sport gets 30 PS more power than the regular hatchback
On the outside, the Tata Bolt Sport gets changes that include a new front bumper, side skirts, a new rear bumper, a roof spoiler and new air vents. On the inside, the sporty theme continues. You get all black leather upholstery with contrasting red stitching and inserts, leather wrapped steering wheel and gear shift knob, Harman infotainment system with voice recognition and SMS readout option and speed dependent volume control.
The sporty hatchback will be launched in the country soon
Powering the hatchback is the same engine that is present in the regular Bolt but it now produces more power thanks to a remapped ECU and a high flow exhaust system. The engine is a 1.2 litre Revotron petrol engine producing 120 PS at 5,500 rpm and 170 Nm of torque between 2,000 and 3,500 rpm. The engine is paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. Just like the regular hatchback, it gets three driving modes – Eco, City and Sport. The Tata Bolt Sport gets firmer and more sporty suspension settings and it rides on larger 17-inch alloy wheels with a new design.
Stopping power is provided by all four disc brakes. The safety features include ABS, EBD, Corner Stability Control and dual airbags.
The car gets body kits to make it look more sporty
Tata will launch the Bolt Sport in the country later this year. It will be more expensive than the regular Bolt and it will compete with the Polo GT TSI and the Fiat Abarth Punto.
