2016 Honda Accord Facelift
Honda has launched their flagship luxury sedan the Accord with an update for the Thailand market. The car gets a few tweaks to the looks and also changes to the equipment and the interiors. The 2016 Honda Accord facelift gets new LED headlamps and LED foglamps, while the rear retains the LED taillamps. The rear also gets a slightly redesigned bumper and a chrome strip that runs into the taillamps. On the insides the car gets new wood and piano black trims with all black interiors. Only car opted with White or Black paint shade can be had with a beige interior. The updated car also gets new features like Engine Remote Start, 7.7-inch multi info display, 7-inch touchscreen audio with Apple CarPlay, MirrorLink for smartphones and WiFi hotspot connectivity.
The 2016 Honda Accord is powered by 2 petrol engines – 2.0-litre 4-cylinder, SOHC engine that develops 155BHP and 190Nm of torque and a 2.4-litre DOHC engine that churns out 174BHP and 225Nm. Both engines are mated to a 5-speed automatic gearbox and are E85 compatible. The updated model is available in 4 colours – pearl white, silver, grey, black. Honda also sells a hybrid variant in Thailand. This model too will be updated in the near future according to company officials.
The 2016 Honda Accord was showcased at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo in Greater Noida. The car would be launched in India very soon and will be imported as a CBU. It will compete with the Skoda Superb and the Toyota Camry Hybrid in India. We hope Honda brings in the Hybrid variant of the Accord as the Indian market is slowly showing fondness for such models. Given the fact that the Camry Hybrid sells well in India, Honda too could have a winner on its hands with the Accord Hybrid.
