Volkswagen is showcasing the upcoming Polo GTi, which will be sold in India as a 3-door car.
The Polo GTi will be the most powerful hatchback in the country

To set it apart from the normal Polo, the GTi gets LED headlights with DRLs, honeycomb grille with GTI badging, sportier front bumper with bigger air intake, red brake calipers, dark red taillight cluster, side skirts, side sills, diffuser, rear spoiler and exposed twin exhaust tips. On the inside, it gets sports seats with part tartan upholstery, new steering wheel, contrast red stitching and aluminium pedals.
It will be a 3-door car
Powering the car will be a 1.8 litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 189 bhp. It is mated to a 7-speed dual clutch DSG automatic gearbox. The car accelerates from a standstill to a 100 kmph in 6.7 seconds and goes on to a top speed of 237 kmph. This will be the most powerful and fastest hatchback on sale in India. Volkswagen says that it is capable of delivering EU 6 emission norms.
An increase in power also results in an increase in the safety features of the car. As standard, it comes with ABS, ESP, Hill-hold functions and airbags.
It is powered by a 1.8-litre engine producing 189 bhp
The Volkswagen Polo GTi will launch in the second half of the year and is expected to cost around INR 20 lakhs (ex-showroom). It will be imported into the country as a CBU (Completely Built-Up) unit.
