2018 Porsche Cayenne Spied

The next generation of the Porsche Cayenne SUV has begun testing and a prototype has been spotted testing.

From the spy shots, we can make out the SUV will get a sleeker look. For the exterior design, inspiration could be taken from the smaller Macan SUV and the Panamera Sport Turismo concept. The wraparound tail lights could be borrowed from the Macan, while the front air intakes and the side vents could be taken from the Panamera Sport Turismo concept.

On the inside, it is expected to feature a design similar to that of the next generation Panamera, which will be unveiled later this year. It will feature an improved touchscreen interface with less physical buttons. The infotainment system and connectivity options will also be improved. The SUV will get more electronic driver aids and some semi-autonomous features.

The next generation of the Porsche Cayenne will be based on Volkswagen Group’s MLB Evo platform. The platform made its debut with the new Audi Q7and will also underpin the next-generation Volkswagen Touareg and the upcoming Lamborghini Urus. It uses a mix of high-strength steel, aluminum and carbon fibre. This means it is lighter and has improved rigidity. This means that the next generation of the Cayenne will be have improved dynamics, fuel efficiency and performance.

Powering the new SUV will be the same range of V6 and V8 petrol engines that are currently available in the current car. The hybrid variant will also continue to be available with the new vehicle.

The next generation of the Porsche Cayenne will come out sometime next year and will be available as a 2018 model.

For the 2017 model, Porsche gave it an updated infotainment system.
