McLaren Announces Geneva Motor Show Line-Up; New Supercar To Be Showcased

McLaren has announced its line-up for the Geneva Motor Show next month.

McLaren has announced its line-up for the Geneva Motor Show next month. The line-up will include a brand new supercar from the Sports Series of cars. The other cars that will be on display will be a carbon fibre tribute to the McLaren P1, which looks stunning in the new blue paint, and a bespoke version of the 675LT Spider. Both the cars are built by McLaren Special Operations (MSO). The recently confirmed 650S GT3 racing car will also be on display.

The McLaren P1 is powered by a 3.8 litre turbocharged V8 engine and an electric motor. The total power output is 903 bhp and 900 Nm of torque. The drivetrain is mated to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission and power is sent to the rear wheels. The hypercar accelerates from a standstill to a 100 kmph in 2.8 seconds and it goes on to an electronically limited top speed of 350 kmph. The car returns 12 kms to a litre of fuel. It was shown at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show and it is a part of the ‘holy trinity’ of hypercars. Only 375 cars were built and production recently ended.

It is mated to a 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. The supercar accelerates from a standstill to a 100 kmph in just 2.9 seconds and to 200 kmph in just 8.1 seconds and it goes on to a top speed of 326 kmph. The car returns 8.57 kms to a litre of fuel. It will be limited to 500 units and all of them have been sold.
