The wait is finally over.
The wait is finally over. The replacement for the Bugatti Veyron is here. Behold the new fastest car in the world.
The design of the Chiron has been greatly inspired by the Vision Gran Turismo that was launched at last year’s Geneva Motor Show. The car looks much more stunning now. It gets LED headlights and LED tail lights. The aerodynamic efficiency of the vehicle has gone up when compared to its predecessor. The design team worked closely with the engineering team. On the inside, more space has been freed and the interiors have been finished with aluminium, leather and carbon fibre.
Powering the Chiron is the same 8.0-litre W16 petrol engine with four turbochargers. It has been upgraded t produce a massive 1,479 bhp at 6,750 rpm and 1,600 Nm of torque between 2,000 rpm and 6,000 rpm. It is mated to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission and power is sent to all four wheels. The car weighs almost 2 tonnes. Despite the massive weight, it can accelerate from a standstill to a 100 kmph in less than 2.5 seconds and reaches 200 kmph in less than 6.5 seconds. The 300 kmph mark comes up in less than 13.6 seconds. Just like the Veyron, top speed comes in two stages: 380 kmph and 420 kmph, which is 11 more than the old car. The vehicle rides on 20-inch wheels.
To improve handling, the car gets an electronic differential and torque vectoring. The driver can choose between five driving modes: Lift, Auto, Autobahn, Handling and Top Speed. The Top Speed of the car can be accessed only in the fifth mode. To improve ride comfort, it gets a new adaptive suspension with variable ride height and damping control.
Only 500 cars will be built at Bugatti’s factory in Mosheim, France. More than 150 orders have been received and deliveries will commence in October. More variants of the car are also being planned. The new Bugatti Chiron has been priced at a staggering 1.9 million pounds.
