Maruti Suzuki closed the last financial year on high note by managing 14.6% rise in domestic sales figures, year on year. This year on year figure rises to 15.9%, if we include exports. It is an open secret that the key contributors behind company’s this feat are two latest entrants – Suzuki Baleno and Vitara Brezza. With its sub 4 meter dimensions, Vitara Brezza managed a very competitive price tag and hence lured wider audience. Thus in March, in passenger utility vehicle segment, company suddenly got a boost and sales skyrocketed beyond 123.4% of what it was in same month of last year.
Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza is priced between Rs. 6.99 lakhs to Rs. 9.68 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). Only powered by 1.3 liter DDiS diesel engine.
Passenger utility vehicle segment is what driving India crazy nowadays and a product from Maruti Suzuki suddenly raises the intensity of the competition in there. Company played safe in design department and gave Vitara Brezza a face that has nothing to offend anyone. They also plonked in the tried and tested mechanicals and have given it a lucrative price tag. This sounds like an instant hit recipe, right? The market response is reflecting the same. While 35,000+ units of Vitara Brezza have been booked, the first 5,563 units have alreadt left the factory premises in last month itself. More than half of the people booking Brezza have chosen top of the line variant. This is good news for the company which just had Ertiga in passenger utility vehicle segment till now.
Maruti Suzuki Baleno has successfully managed to crack the premium hatchback market.
While the Vitara Brezza dominates the regular Maruti showrooms, Baleno takes charge from Nexa floor. Suzuki Baleno is challenging Hyundai Elite i20quite hard and is able to beat the Korean offering several times in past few months. This makes Baleno another hot seller for the brand from the recent past, in the premium hatchback segment. Both cars are equally important for the brand not only in the domestic markets but also in global marketsand it has started to reflect in company’s exportfigures, which grew by 33%, year on year. If you wish to buy any of these two cars, you must have to wait for more than 4 – 5 months. Company is working hard to reduce the waiting period and have increased production capacity for both cars.
Company starts shipping Baleno to overseas markets including their homeland – Japan.
