Honda has brought the sixth generation of the Accord sedan to the Auto Expo ahead of its launch in India.
Honda has brought the sixth generation of the Accord sedan to the Auto Expo ahead of its launch in India. The sedan was on sale earlier but was pulled out due to poor sales. The Japanese company has confirmed that it will be launched in the country later this year.
The 2016 Accord gets major styling changes that make it look more sporty and sharp and it comes equipped with LED headlights with LED daytime running lights, LED tail lights and LED fog lights. On the inside, the car comes with two touchscreen systems one below the other. The upper one is a 7-inch screen that features smartphone integration. The lower one is a 7.7-inch screen that is used to access car information. It also gets heated rear seats and rain sensing wipers.
It comes completely new styling on the outside as well as on the inside and a lot of new features. Powering the car will be a 2.4 litre, four-cylinder petrol engine producing 185 bhp mated to a 6-speed manual or a CVT automatic gearbox. A V6 petrol engine is also available.
The Honda Accord comes with a host of safety features that include the Multi-Angle rearview camera, front and rear parking sensors, Expanded View Driver’s Mirror and auto high beam headlights to enhance night time visibility which automatically switches to low beam when a vehicle coming in the opposite direction is detected. It also gets Honda Sensing that includes Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), Road Departure Mitigation (RDM), Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC).
The Accord will compete against the Skoda Superb and the Toyota Camry.
