Late last year, Mercedes-Benz revealed the facelift for the SLK, called the SLC. Along with it, they also revealed the AMG version of the car, called the Mercedes-AMG SLC 43. Considering that the SLK was pretty popular, we knew that the SLC would make it to India soon. However, Mercedes has decided to surprise us by considering to bring the AMG model first to India. They have imported the Mercedes-AMG SLC 43 for homologation.
The car is based on the new SLC roadster but it gets a few changes to set it apart from the regular car. It gets a a few gloss black elements, AMG and biturbo badging, chrome elements, dual twin exhaust pipes and new 18-inch AMG design alloy wheel. On the inside, it gets a speedo that reads up to 280 kmph. The options list includes red brake calipers, performance steering wheel, LED Intelligent Light System with brand-typical eyebrows, several 18-inch wheel and tyre combinations, the AMG Night package, exclusive designo paint finishes, various leather upholstery options, the COMAND Online infotainment and communications system, a Harman Kardon Logic 7 Surround Sound system and ambient lighting in red, blue and white.
Powering the Mercedes-AMG SLC 43 is a 3.0 litre V6 biturbo petrol engine producing 367 bhp between 5,500 to 6,000 rpm and 520 Nm of torque between 2,000 to 4,200 rpm. It is mated to a 9-speed 9G-TRONIC sports transmission. The car accelerates from a standstill to a 100 kmph in 4.7 seconds and goes on to an electronically limited top speed of 250 kmph. It returns 12.82 kms to a litre of fuel and gives out 178 g/km of carbon dioxide.
Once it goes on sale, the Mercedes-AMG SLC 43 will replace the Mercedes-AMG SLK 55, which has been priced at INR 1.26 crores (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
