The Hyundai Creta is powered by one petrol motor and two diesel motors. All engines are mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox, but only the larger diesel variant gets the option of an automatic gearbox. The car has proved reasonably well in the dynamics departmentas well and turns out to be a well rounded package. But this free run of the Creta could be somewhat curbed by the excellent new Honda BR-V which we drove exclusively in Japanand is due for launch around March next year. The BR-V could prove to be the dark horse among compact SUVs which is seeing quite a lot of hustle in recent times.
