Going by the industry trend, car sales have overall seen a growth for the month of November 2015. While Maruti Suzuki was still the leader of the pack, French manufacturer Renault saw a huge rise in sales over the same time last year. Not only have domestic sales increased but a great boost has been also noticed in the cars exported from India.
Maruti Suzuki Alto
Maruti Suzuki as we mentioned here, grew by 9.7 percent for the month of November with a cumulative of 1,20,824 units which include 1,10,599 units sold in India and 10,225 units exported. Hyundai was the second best with a sale of 57,661 units which is a 6.2 percent rise over the same time last year. The domestic sales stood at 43,651 units which is a 23 percent rise over November 2015 but on the contrary saw a 25.4 percent decline in exports at 14,010 units. Tata Motors on the other hand, grew by 21 percent in the commercial vehicles sector. The passenger vehicles segment saw a decline of 13 percent and saw a sale of 10,517 units instead of 12,021 units sold during November last year. The total sales for Tata Motors for the month of November 2015 stood at 38,918 units.
Renault Kwid
Renaultwas the biggest gainer this November mainly owing to the launch of its new entry level hatchback, the Kwid. The company sold 7,819 units in the last month which is a significant 144 percent growth over the corresponding month last year. Toyota Kirloskar Motors on the other hand clocked a 7 percent growth in domestic sales from January to November 2015 and sold 11,388 units for the month of November. Mahindra’s auto sector sold 41,590 units in November 2015 which is a growth of 21 percent over November 2014. During the same period Mahindra exported 2,207 units which is a growth of 28 percent. Honda Car Indiasold 14,712 units in November 2015 as against 15,263 units during the corresponding month last year.

There is no doubt that India’s automotive industry is again seeing a rise and with manufacturers getting in newer models and variants this trend will continue for some time. The Indian Government’s Make in India campaign will also help give impetus to the automobile industry in India to manufacture their products in India and export them to global markets.
