Audi India launched its flagship, the Audi R8 V10 Plus in India at a price tag of Rs 2.48 crore at the Delhi Auto Expo 2016.
Sitting on a new Audi Space Frame chassis which employs a hybrid construction of aluminium and carbon fibre, the new R8 weights just 1,555 kg while the range topping R8 V10 Plus is even lighter at 1,454 kg. Apart from being lighter than the outgoing model by nearly 50 kg, the low slung supercar is more rigid by a good 40%.
The mid-mounted 5.2-litre V10 FSI naturally aspirated motor 560 Nm of torque in R8 V10 Plus. The 2016 Audi R8 V10 Plus dispatches 0-100 kmph is a mere 3.2 seconds claiming a top whack of 330 kmph. It features a 7-speed S-Tronic gearbox with paddle shifters that help transmit the colossal power via the Quattro all-wheel drive system.
The Audi R8 V10 Plus comes with the ‘virtual cockpit’ akin to the new TT. There is a large TFT monitor placed directly in front of the driver while the usual central display has been shown the door. Audi will also offers different interior options to choose from.
At the pavilion, Audi is showing off the new RS7 Performance, S3 cabriolet, the SQ5 and the A6 allroad.
