The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza is all set to launch on the 21st of March 2016. The compact SUV will compete with the Ford EcoSport and Mahindra TUV300.
Maruti’s first ever compact SUV will be launched in India on the 21st March. The car will be offered with only a diesel engine initially. It will be powered by the familiar 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine that develops 90PS of max power and 200Nm of max torque. The engine will be mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Maruti is also looking to launch the Brezza with a 1.2-litre petrol motor and possibly an automatic gearbox too in the future. The Vitara Brezza will be sold only through the company’s regular outlets and not the NEXA premium dealerships.
The compact SUV will be offered with vibrant paint shades with contrasting roof colours. The Yellow and the Blue coloured cars will have a white coloured contrasting roof while the red car will have a black coloured roof. This could be an excellent move by Maruti as no car below the Skoda Yeti offers such an option. The design of the Ford Ecosport competitor is in line with the European spec Vitara SUV with a similar looking front fascia. The car gets a new H-shaped front grille with silver painted skid plates and heavy plastic cladding all around.
The Maruti Vitara Brezza will be available in 6 variants namely LDi, LDi(O), VDi, VDi(O), ZDi, ZDi+. The base LDi comes fairly loaded with Twin pod headlamps with integrated turn indicators on the bumper, 15-inch steel wheels, Power adjustable ORVMs, Rear spoiler with an LED stop light, Manual HVAC, Tilt steering, Manual day/night IRVM, Speed sensitive door locks and Bluetooth-enabled music system. The VDi adds features like Blacked out/floating A, B and C pillars, Rear parking sensors, Body-coloured door handles, Keyless entry, gear shift indicator, Rear power windows, an electromagnetic tail gate and Security alarm. The LDi (O) and VDi (O) variants will bring you safety features like ABS with EBD, front seat belt pretensioners with force limiters and a passenger side airbag.
The ZDi trim gets features like bigger 16-inch alloy wheels, Projector headlights with LED DRLs, Automatic climate control, Rear armrest with cup holders, Driver’s seat height adjuster, Steering wheel with audio controls, Rear window washer and wiper, Mood light in speedometer, 12V power socket in boot and above mentioned safety features as standard. The ZDi+ adds features like Dual tone paintjob, Auto headlamps, Rain sensing auto wipers, Power folding ORVMs with integrated turn indicators, Keyless entry and push button start, Reverse parking camera, Smartplay infotainment with Apple CarPlay, inbuilt navigation and Mapcare, a cooled upper glovebox and Cruise control with switches on the steering wheel in addition to the ZDi trim.
